Economic Decline Exaggerated

The negative news surrounding the economy of America is rife. Everyday, the masses of the country are bombarded with breaking information that the financial infrastructure of the country is going to crumble, bringing down with it the motor of the nation and along with that, the way of life of every US citizen.

This news couldn’t be more false. While it may be true that certain areas of the economy could stand to see some improvement and that the value of the dollar is weak currently, the truth behind the matter is that the overall economy is standing strong. Even though some industrial sectors, such as the domestic automotive industry and the housing market, are facing a crisis, others continue to improve, like professional services in the medical field or government jobs.

There’s also the fact that some aspects of what has been hurting America are not found within the nation itself. The price of gas, for instance, has long since been determined not by the value of capital within the country but rather a global demand for oil. Since the demand has seemingly risen in recent history, the prices have also went up as well.

Because of the oil drive, Americans have been driving more fuel-efficient vehicles and looking to purchase them, which has been considerable energy to the manufacturers of these vehicles, which almost all have their plants located on domestic shores, effectively making them huge contributers to the economy.

Beyond these things, there’s also the matter that the economy is dependent not on large factors outside of our control, but largely the way in which each individual handles his or her own personal finances. If you live a lifestyle that’s  beyond your means, you’ll easily feel pressured by the nature of money and feel as if everything around you is straining your wallet — which it is.

If you spend below what you make and save money, you’ll find that you can be prosperous regardless of what the news is telling you, and you’ll learn that the economy can be determined not by what doom and gloom is sent your way through the media, but rather your own hard work and best interest.
